We're a small team in Bengaluru building the career platform we wished existed when we were last on either side of the table — applying for our 88th role, or screening our 503rd CV.

The origin

Two people, on opposite sides of the same broken system.

In late 2022, two of us were stuck. One was a senior engineer 4 months into a job search, applying to 60 roles a week and hearing back from three. The other was running talent at a 200-person company, drowning in a queue of CVs that grew faster than anyone could read them.

We'd both used the same five job boards. Both written the same kind of frustrated tweet. Both convinced the system was broken in a way nobody was actually fixing. Then we did the math.

23 million applications sent every day, globally. Most never read. 38 days average time to fill a role. 68% of recruiter time spent on screening, not on conversations.

That was the moment. The matching problem is solvable. With modern AI, you can read a CV and a job description and produce a real, weighted fit score across forty dimensions in under a second. That changes everything — for both sides.

We started 33careers a few months later. Today, the candidates and the hiring teams using the platform tell us the same thing: "It feels like the hiring process is finally working for me, not against me." That's the only metric that matters.
